TAISEN
About

Taisen is a French composer and multi-instrumentalist whose work blurs the lines between classical composition and electronic experimentation. His music is rooted in piano and expands its sound through synthesisers, texture, and movement. A soundworld where light and shadow, memory and imagination, silence and resonance coexist. Born in France and based in Toulouse, Taisen’s earliest musical memories are steeped in the sounds of classical music. He began learning piano at the age of five, alternating between conservatory studies and private lessons. But it wasn’t until his mid-teens that music became a personal language. At sixteen, tired with formal training and the rigidity of sheet music, he abandoned lessons and began to improvise. This moment marked the beginning of a lifelong devotion to spontaneous composition, one that would expand to include other instruments (guitar, flute, violin) and eventually the electronic palette that now forms a central part of his sound. In 2025, he was invited to support Jean-Michel Jarre. His upcoming project, The Fall Sessions, distils all of these ideas into three vivid, introspective compositions. Recorded in his Toulouse studio over a single weekend in November, each track is accompanied by a filmed performance, designed to bring listeners into the intimate space where the music was created. As a whole, The Fall Sessions is both a statement of intent and an invitation: to slow down, to feel, and to let time stretch.
